DESIRE MOHEB ZANDI

 

Desire Moheb-Zandi (1990 - Berlin) lives and works in Paris. She’s the granddaughter of Uzbeks, and grew up in Turkey, the birth country of part of her family (the other being Iranian). She moved to New York to study at Parsons School of Design.

Desire Moheb-Zandi is a contemporary artist known for her intricate textile-based works that explore themes of identity, memory, and cultural heritage. German-born with Iranian roots, she blends traditional weaving techniques with modern aesthetics. Her dynamic, abstract pieces bridge diverse cultures and artistic traditions. Moheb-Zandi’s art features vibrant colors and textures, showcasing her deep engagement with craft and textiles’ tactile nature. Her work resonates with both personal and universal narratives, inviting viewers to contemplate the intersection of tradition and modernity.
