BLOOM

ON THE OCCASION OF THE BEGINNING OF SPRING, ELHAM M. AGHILI, IN COLLABORATION WITH VIMAR1991, PRESENTS TWO INTERVENTIONS AT THE SPACES OF CHANEL COORDINATION IN VITTUONE.

ELHAM’S WORLD MAKES US DREAM, TRANSLATING THE INCREDIBLE INTO SOMETHING BELIEVABLE. ALTERED AND UNUSUAL COLORS AND PROPORTIONS INTERTWINE WITH OUR IMAGINATION AND CHILDHOOD MEMORIES. WE FIND OURSELVES AS CHILDREN, GAZING IN AWE AND WONDER AT THE WORKS AND THEIR DETAILS. HER LARGE SCULPTURES ARE HYBRID AND SOMETIMES ANTHROPOMORPHIC.

Flora and fauna intertwine and blend without rules. Imagination is free to travel in a suspended reality where anything is possible. The artist appeals to that childlike sensitivity that still survives within every adult, and that alone can restore the desire to explore the invisible and allow beauty, in any form, to awaken all our senses.

The collaboration between Aghili and VIMAR1991 began in February 2022 during the 91st edition of Pitti Filati, where the artist was invited by the company to adapt her installation, Hybrids, to the trade fair stand, incorporating elements made with yarns from VIMAR1991's new SS23 collection. From there, the company and the artist continued their collaboration, leading to the creation of large-scale sculptures made entirely from VIMAR1991’s fantasy yarns, presented for the first time on this occasion.

We invite you to lose yourself and find yourself again in this magical garden, immersing yourself in its hybrid, unexpected, and dreamlike atmosphere.

ELHAM
M. AGHILI

(Sassuolo, 1989)

Is a young textile artist who lives and works in Parma.

She got nominated several times in art competitions and received multiple awards for her work, getting both national and international exposure.

Four years ago, she started studying the links between humankind, nature and space. Her Persian origins brought her very early to the tapestry world where wove strong ties with the botanic iconography.

She chose the yarn as a medium, an artistic voice which involves the creation of detailed surreal natures, transforming a soft and shapeless thing into a physical – strong and present – piece of art.

Her installations both invasive and immersive, are made up of nature-inspired elements and meanwhile very hybrid in their details; that paradox steadily keeps the illusion of a true reality and a fake truth.
